The latest character for SNK’s sword-swinging brawler Samurai Shodown has been revealed, and it’s the long-teased Guilty Gear guest character.
As promised yesterday and long since predicted by myself the character is indeed Baiken, the signature samurai character of Guilty Gear, and she appears to be based on her Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 appearance, further proving the validity of the game’s data-mining leak from back in March.

Baiken is a classic Guilty Gear character appearing in the series as far back as the very first game, where she was a boss character, and has been present throughout most of series history ever since.
With a heavy focus on older Japanese culture and samurai aesthetic, she’s a natural fit for the world of Samurai Shodown, though she undoubtedly brings some of her own tricks to this traditional Japanese setting.
The trailer showcases many of Baiken’s iconic moves, including the Yozansen air slash, her tatami gaeshi mat stomp and even her trusty claw and cannon moves as part of her arsenal.
Given that SNK had said this trailer would debut a day later, this appears to be a leaked version of the trailer which explains its relatively low quality, but we’re likely to see a more high quality version uploaded later today.
Baiken will be released for Samurai Shodown fans quite soon, with her release date set as Thursday, August 19th, later this week.
