Not only is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes incredibly gifted at football, but he has pretty great taste in fast food. It was just announced the 25-year-old recently joined the ownership group working to bring 30 Whataburger restaurants to the Kansas City metropolitan area. Slated to open beginning next year, you can officially get Mahomes’ favorite burger while sporting pieces of Whataburger’s limited edition collection in partnership with Academy Sports + Outdoors and Magellan Outdoors.
“This is the first-ever collaboration between Whataburger and Academy Sports + Outdoors’ exclusive Magellan Outdoors brand – it’s the secret sauce to fishing fashion,” said Lawrence Lobpries, Academy Sports + Outdoors’ senior vice president of marketing. “We’re excited to pair two iconic Texas brands together for a fun summer treat you can only find at Academy.”
Included in the capsule are fishing-themed gear like breathable short-sleeved woven fishing shirts, long-sleeved lightweight performance crew shirts, boat shorts and caps in the restaurant’s recognizable bright orange and iconic lettering.
The full lineup is available to shop at one of Academy Sports + Outdoors’ 106 locations across Texas and online. If you spend $20 or more in-store on products within the collection, you’ll receive a free, special-edition Whataburger and Magellan Outdoors table tent. We linked several standout items below.
